In this blog post, I will be sharing my personal experience of staying at the resort and exploring the surrounding areas.
Tranquility Bay Resort: The Ultimate Getaway in the Florida Keys
Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort is a luxurious beachfront resort that offers a peaceful and relaxing getaway for guests with its private white sand beach, crystal clear water, and stunning sunsets.
The resort features 87 two- and three-bedroom beach houses with fully equipped kitchens, spacious living areas, and private porches or balconies with views of the beach and the Gulf of Mexico.
The resort also offers many activities and amenities, including two swimming pools, a poolside tiki bar, a gourmet restaurant, a fitness center, a spa, and watersports equipment rentals.
The resort is front facing the Gulf of Mexico in Marathon, FL. Our flight from Tampa to EYW ( Key West International airport) was pretty quick, less than 3 hours to be exact.
But keep in mind the distance from the airport to the resort is a little over 40 minutes; so plan ahead to rent a car or order a ride share, we used Lyft and no issues at all.
Room Accommodations at the Resort

Each room is tastefully decorated and well-appointed with comfortable furnishings and modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs, high-speed internet, and air conditioning.
When deciding on which room to stay in during your vacation, there are plenty of options to choose from at Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort.
We stayed in the two bedroom beach house with amazing views of the water and putting green.
The beach houses and waterfront homes also offer additional features such as private balconies, fully equipped kitchens, and separate living areas, making them perfect for families or larger groups.
On Site Resort Activities
The resort offers a variety of activities on-site to keep guests entertained during their stay. One of the main attractions is the beach, which has plenty of chairs, loungers, and hammocks for guests to relax and enjoy the sunshine.
Putting green – Enjoy a round or two at the Nicklaus Design putting green. Whether you’re a golf lover or learning you can easily grab a club and a ball from the front desk and enjoy!
My nephew sure did, when we arrived to the resort he was so fascinated with the putting green and wanted to play for hours.
For those looking for more activity, there are water sports available including paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkeling, and fishing.
The resort also has two swimming pools, one of which is heated, and a fitness center for those who want to stay active during their vacation.
In the evening, guests can gather around one of the fire pits or play beach games like cornhole. The resort also offers bike rentals, allowing guests to explore the surrounding area on two wheels.
Feeling a bit adventurous compared to a relaxing spa day getaway? You can easily rent a jet ski or kayak for a fun day out on the water.
On the beach adjacent to TJ’s Tiki Bar you’ll see an area set up for you to select your Watersport rental.
Resort Dining Options
Butterfly Cafe
The Butterfly Cafe at Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort offers a variety of dishes that incorporate fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
For breakfast, guests can enjoy classic options such as eggs benedict, omelets, pancakes, and waffles. There are also lighter choices like yogurt and fruit parfaits, smoothie bowls, and breakfast sandwiches.
For lunch, the menu features salads, sandwiches, and wraps, as well as heartier options such as fish tacos, burgers, and crab cakes. The dinner menu offers a range of seafood options, including yellowtail snapper, lobster tail, and pan-seared scallops, as well as steak and pasta dishes.
The restaurant also has a separate children’s menu that includes options like chicken tenders, grilled cheese, and mac and cheese.
In terms of drinks, the Butterfly Cafe serves a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, and cocktails. There is also a happy hour menu with discounted drinks and appetizers.
TJ’s Tiki Bar, located inside the Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort, is a casual open-air spot serving up a variety of tasty food and drinks.
The menu features classic bar fare such as burgers, sandwiches, and salads, as well as seafood options like fish tacos, conch fritters, and ceviche.
The drink menu includes an array of tropical cocktails, frozen drinks, beer, and wine. Guests can enjoy their food and drinks while taking in the stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico from the bar’s outdoor patio.

Paradise Cuban Restaurant is a Cuban eatery located just outside the Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort.
The restaurant offers an extensive menu of authentic Cuban cuisine, including classic dishes like ropa vieja, picadillo, and arroz con pollo.
Sandwiches, such as the famous Cuban sandwich, are also on offer, as well as a range of sides and appetizers like empanadas, yuca fries, and fried plantains.
For drinks, Paradise Cuban Restaurant offers a variety of refreshing cocktails and beers, as well as non-alcoholic options like café con leche and tropical fruit juices.
The restaurant has a cozy, casual atmosphere and features indoor and outdoor seating options.

The park covers over 500 acres and features two and a half miles of pristine white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and lush tropical vegetation.

Want to see what all there is to see and do locally? You have plenty to choose from. There’s the Turtle Hospital, Crane Point, Pigeon Key, and Seven Mile Bridge are all within driving distance of Tranquility Bay Beachfront Hotel & Resort.
Final Thoughts
Staying at the Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort and exploring the surrounding areas of the Florida Keys provided an unforgettable experience.
The resort offered various types of accommodation options, including beach houses and guestrooms, as well as on-site restaurants such as the Butterfly Cafe and TJ’s Tiki Bar.
The resort also offered guests a range of activities, including water sports, fishing charters, and beachfront access to the Gulf of Mexico.
Exploring the area, I visited several attractions such as The Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters, Bahia Honda State Park, and the Turtle Hospital.
Overall, my stay at Tranquility Bay and my exploration of the Florida Keys were both memorable experiences that I would highly recommend to others.
